Hey, I'm Courtney

I'm a software engineering student from Zimbabwe, builder of things, and occasional writer.

I created CourtNotes as a place to collect thoughts that would otherwise stay stuck in my head. Sometimes that's a lesson from a project. Sometimes it's an opinion on a piece of technology. Sometimes it's just me trying to make sense of something by writing about it.

I won't pretend this blog has a strict publishing schedule.

There are weeks when I'll publish several posts, and there are months when I'll disappear completely because university, startups, work, or life got in the way. That's just how it is.

CourtNotes exists because I like documenting things. Whether I actually get around to publishing them is a different story.

If you're here for polished tutorials and perfectly planned content calendars, you're probably in the wrong place.

Going deep on systems design and scalable software architecture
Writing more consistently here on CourtNotes — and actually hitting publish

A Few Things About Me

When I'm not building something, I'm usually plotting how to build it bigger, or thinking about tech that actually moves the needle back home. Outside of that, you'll catch me reworking a pitch deck, falling down a random research rabbit hole, or with something looping in my ears.

Why I Write

The internet has no shortage of polished success stories — the highlight reel where everything worked out and the founder always knew it would. I find the in-between far more interesting: the wrong turns, the experiments that flopped, the late-night debugging, and the occasional win that makes it all worth it.

Writing is also how I think things through. Putting a problem into words usually shows me where my understanding is thin — so even if a post helps no one else, it's already done its job for me. If it happens to help you too, even better.
